Look,
They didn't do anything to my film, or anything like that. But they're just really STUPID!!
I called to chek if my film was there. The kid said yeah but there's a problem with it. I was like, Oh, great. He said that they put stickers on the envelope saying "undeveloped film" and "service not available", and he told me it didn't cost anything. So, I went down to check it out.
Apparently, they sent it back as "undeveloped film" on a super-8 reel FULLY DEVELOPED. Free. what morons. Even though it was my benefit on their part, I still don't trust them enough to drop off another roll of film. god knows what they'll do to the actual film next time.
So, my apologies for defying everyone who told me not to go to wal-mart. I'm actually probably going to be using a lot of Ektachrome film anyway because my films are planned to be dark and gloomy. I'm most likely gonna just send it off to Pac-Lab.
Also, for the record, after testing my camera on real people in motion this time - Don't buy the Sankyo super-CM 300 if you want good motion clarity. This thing blurrs like a mofo when you pan. The hell with it. I'm gonna spend the money to buy a Canon 1014. Why not, if I'm gonna get serious.
Peace to all ~M

1. Next time, try buying K40 w/prepaid mailers. You'll save money.
2. When you shot that blurry film, were you shooting at 18 fps? No matter what camera you use to shoot, a $2 thrift store Kodak M2 or an eBay $800 Beaulieu, you'll have blurry pans when you pan at 18 fps. This is known as "strobing."
Good luck.

Also, I forgot to add...
I think all the S8 websites should be amended to warn people away from Wal*Mart, Sam's Club, whatever. It's really unnecessary now that Kodak offers prepaid processing. Everybody is sick of reading the "My film came back from Wal*Mart undeveloped!" posts, anyway.
That said, I still use Dwayne's via a local supermarket. When I order another batch of K40, I'm going to order the K40 w/prepaid processing.

hi (colorburst300 here)
you said that it will always look blurry when you pan at 18 fps?? I know for a fact that I can't change this on this particular camera, but what is the right one to shoot with? 24 fps? If I do this won't it screw up the speed when I use a variable speed projector to transfer my films? I thought the flicker reducing only helps when it's shot in 18 fps? Maybe i'm wrong. i'm probably wrong. Help me

Since you're using a camera running at a fixed 18 fps, here's what you do when you have to pan--pan S-L-O-W-L-Y. This will reduce the blurriness though not entirely eliminate it. Panning at 24 fps will not be blurry as long as you don't pan too quickly.
